OPEN
MIND DIAGRAM
An
Open Mind diagram is a way of getting inside a character’s head to see what the
character might be thinking or feeling.
Imagine that this character thinks in pictures, symbols, images, words or
phrases. Use these in the head outline
to show what the character is thinking and feeling. On the other side, explain what this Open
Mind helped you to realize about the character in the story or person in real
life. Underline one or two ideas that
you want to bring to class discussion.
Open
Mind Diagram - Each person in a group of four uses a different colored marker to
participate in the poster creation. Students draw a shape of a head and, inside
the head, write words, quotes from the story, symbols and pictures. Words can be
made into pictures of parts of the face.
